GrandPrixGame Global Sweepstake Terms and Conditions


1. These rules ("Rules") govern the operation of the GrandPrixGame, which is a pools competition operating under the laws of England and Wales (the "GrandPrixGame").

2. The GrandPrixGame is operated by Malaki Sporting Games Plc (Company Registration No. 5181361) and registered office at 97 Ebury Street, London, SW1W 9QU, United Kingdom ("Malaki"). Malaki is a registered pools promoter under the laws of England and Wales.

3.The GrandPrixGame is open to individuals over the age of 16 years who enter the GrandPrixGame in accordance with the Rules ("Competitors").

Entry criteria
4. Each GrandPrixGame involves Competitors attempting correctly to predict the Result for a selected Grand Prix (the "Event") within the Formula 1 Motor Racing Grand Prix Season 2005 ("the Season").

5. Competitors may enter for any Event remaining in the Season the Result of which has not yet been determined. No entries for an Event are permitted after the official time for the commencement of the parade lap immediately preceding the Event in question.

6. There is no limit to the number of entries which a Competitor can make.

7. Malaki cannot accept any liability for the failure of telecommunications or technology (howsoever caused) which leads to the failure of a Competitor to record their Entry within the deadline for an Event.

Method and cost of entry
8. Entries are permitted either via the internet or telephone. Entries are only valid when a Competitor Reference Number has been issued to the Competitor in respect of that entry issued before the official start time of the parade lap prior to the race. Late entries will not be accepted. Malaki will not accept entries after this time, even if there is a delay to the start of the parade lap.

9. Each entry contributes a stake of £1 to the total fund available for prizes for that Event.

10. In addition, Competitors will be liable for a call/web charge which will depend upon the method of entry used. Calls cost £0.50 per minute from a BT landline, mobile costs may vary. Calls are charged by the second and should last for approximately 4 minutes. The Web charge is 78p for single entries. For multiple entries in the same transaction, the Web charge is 78p for the first two entries and 25p per entry thereafter.

11. All Competitors will receive a unique Competitor Reference Number that is confirmation of entry and which, together with the entrant's self-selected PIC, is required to claim any prize.

12. An entry will be disqualified if in the opinion of Malaki it is:
(a) not accompanied by valid payment of the Stake and the appropriate call/web charge;
(b) incomplete, indecipherable, incorrectly completed, illegible or ambiguous;
(c) sent by a person under 16 years of age; or
(d) not received as provided for in the Rules or otherwise breaches the terms of the Rules.

13. Proof of transmission will not be accepted as proof of receipt of the entry. Only the issuance of a unique Competitor Reference Number confirms entry.

14. If an entry is disqualified by Malaki all Stakes received in respect of that entry will be refunded to the Competitor upon receipt by Malaki of a written claim for a refund, provided such a claim is received by Malaki within 4 weeks of the Event in respect of which the entry was purported to have been made. All such claims must be made via post with a self-addressed stamped envelope and sent to: Malaki Sporting Games at 97 Ebury Street, London, SW1W 9QU, United Kingdom.

Determination of the Result of an Event
15. The Result of an Event shall be the determined by the first six cars to cross the finish line of the Event in order, and, for the avoidance of any doubt, the decision as to the Result shall be within the sole and final discretion of Malaki and that decision shall be final and binding.

16. If a driver does not race in a particular Event, but is replaced by an alternate driver, that replacement driver shall be deemed to have taken his number. However, if no driver races or any such driver is disqualified, then no replacement driver will be provided.

17. If an Event is cancelled, all entries in relation to that Event will be cancelled and the accumulated Prize Pool will be rolled over to the next Event. If the last Event of the Season is cancelled the accumulated Prize Pool will be rolled over to the first Event of the following season.

18. The Result will be published on after the end of each Event.

Determination of the winner(s)
19. The Prize Pool winner will be the Competitor who successfully predicts the Result in the relevant Event and will win the total sum then standing to the Prize Pool for that Event. If there is more than one Competitor who correctly predicts the Result of the Event, the total money then standing to the Prize Pool for that Event will be divided equally among those Competitors.

20. If no Competitor correctly predicts the Result of the Event then:

  • the Competitor who came closest with their prediction to the Result will be awarded 20% of the Prize Pool, subject to a minimum of £1,000. The remainder will be rolled over to the Prize Pool standing for the next Event and the accumulated prize money will continue to accumulate by virtue of such roll-overs until there is a winning entry or until the end of the Season, which ever comes first.
  • Where there is more than one Competitor who are equally closest with their predictions AND no Competitor correctly predicts the Result, those Competitors will be awarded 20% of the Prize Pool, subject to a minimum of £1,000, which will be divided equally among those Competitors.

21. If, at the end of the last Event in the Season, no Competitor correctly predicts the Result, then the Prize Pool winner will be the Competitor who:

  • came closest with their prediction to the Result. Where there is more than one Competitor who are equally closest with their predictions to the Result, the the total money then standing to the Prize Pool will be divided equally among those Competitors.

Runners up prizes

22a. Players who correctly predict 4 or 5 drivers (but not the top 6 drivers), may have won a runners up prize, subject to availability.

22b. There is no monetary value to these free entries.

22c. Free entries must be redeemed according to the rules of the GrandPrixGame and according to the instructions sent to players. All free entries must be entered via the GrandPrixGame email system. No reimbursement of player costs will be given if entry is made through the website.

22d. No free entries can be redeemed after the last race in a season.

22e. All jackpot winnings and runners up prizes won via free entries can be claimed according to GrandPrixGame rules.

22f.Entrants are eligible for only one prize per race. If multiple prizes are won (ie. An entrant gets a 4 car selection correct and a 5 car selection correct), only one prize (including the Jackpot) can be claimed.

23. All Competitors who consider that they may be winners should contact Malaki's UK National Rate Claims and Information Line (08712 712 100) or visit within 60 days after the Event in order to claim their prize. Winners will be asked to provide their unique Reference Number and personal PIC to claim their prize. Prizes will be distributed within 70 days of the Event.

24. Whilst Malaki will endeavour to contact winners where possible, it is the responsibility of winners to contact Malaki to claim their prize. If the identity of a winner has not been ascertained within a period of 70 days, any unclaimed prize money will be added to the Prize Pool for the next Event applicable at that time.

25. Malaki's decision in all matters (including, but not limited to ascertaining the winners, the level of prize money and disqualified entries) will be final and binding. No correspondence will be entered into regarding the results of each race or the amount of prize money distributed to each winner.

26. Malaki is notified under the Data Protection Act 1998. Malaki will keep all data relating to Competitors confidential, save where disclosure of the same is necessary for regulatory purposes or pursuant to the order of a competent Court or public authority.

27. We recommend that you print out a copy of these Rules and keep a copy of your unique Reference Number in a safe place.

30. To the extent that the GrandPrixGame gives rise to legal rights liabilities and obligations, those rights liabilities and obligations shall be governed by English law and any disputes arising shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.

31. By entering the GrandPrixGame, Competitors agree to be bound by these terms & conditions and any other requirements set out herewith. The winners of the Jackpot and Runners-Up prizes will be expected to participate in any publicity.


1. There are 5 pairs of British Grand Prix Tickets (10 tickets in total) to win, hereafter also referred to as “the Prize”. The tickets are valid for the British Grand Prix race held at Silverstone (UK) from the 8th - 10th July 2005. No alternative prize is offered.

2. To enter this competition, either play the GrandPrixGame for the USA or French Grand Prix races, or, if you do not wish to enter the game, send in a postal entry (see Rule 9).

3. You do not have to guess correctly the order of the first six cars to cross the finish line in order to win the Prize. Five winners (each receiving a pair of tickets) will be drawn at random on 4th July from all entries received for the USA and French GP. As this is a random prize draw, multiple entries would increase chances of winning.

4. Prize winners are responsible for their own transportation, parking and all other expenses incurred for the trip. The Prizes only include admission to the race.

5. Winners will be notified no later than 5th July 2005 by email for entrants to the GrandPrixGame, or for postal entrants by telephone. All prizes must be claimed via telephone or in person by 8th July. If, for any reason, a winning email address bounces (more than 3 times in one day) then a new winner will be chosen at random at the end of the day.

6. A winner not able to use the Prize for whatever reason will not be offered an alternative prize. The Prize is transferable, should the winner not wish or cannot participate.

7. Players can enter as many times as they like and will increase their chances of winning by playing multiple times.

8. The prize draw is not open to employees of Malaki Sporting Games plc.

9. The Prize is subject to availability. Malaki Sporting Games plc reserves the right to substitute a prize of equivalent or greater value if this is necessary for reasons beyond its control. No cash alternative will be offered for any prize. There are no runner up prizes for this competition.

10. The names of the 5 prize winners may be obtained by written request by sending an SAE to the above address before 1st September 2005.

11. Malaki Sporting Games plc's decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into. Entries that do not comply in full with these rules may be disqualified.

12. Malaki Sporting Games plc reserves the right to alter or amend this prize draw without prior notice in the event that unforeseen circumstances make this unavoidable.

13. Malaki Sporting Games plc will not supply competition information provided by entrants to any third parties. Privacy Policy: We are committed to protecting your privacy. We will only use the information that we collect about you lawfully (in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998).

14. We accept no responsibility for entries lost, delayed or incomplete.

15. Malaki Sporting Games plc is not liable for any costs, claims, damages or loss suffered by any person as a result of entering this promotion occasioned by any failure, however caused, in the fulfilment of the terms of this promotion, except that no term in this promotion shall operate to limit the liability of any party for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

16. By entering this prize draw, entrants agree to be bound by these terms & conditions and any other requirements set out herewith. The winner will be expected to participate in any publicity resulting from the award of this prize.

17. No purchase necessary to enter the prize draw. If you wish to be eligible for the prize draw but not enter the GrandPrixGame, please post your 6-car race entry for either race along with a self addressed stamped envelope to Malaki Sporting Games plc, Suite 297, 34 Buckingham Palace Road, London SW1W OR. All entries must include name, address, phone number and must be received no later than 3rd July, Please consult for driver numbers and further information about the Grand Prix Game. Postal entries must be sent individually in order to qualify for the draw. Proof of posting is not proof of delivery. Damaged, incomplete or illegible entries may be treated as invalid. Entries sent in through agents or third parties will not be entered into the Prize draw.
